Snow Day

School was cancelled today because of the "ice storm" (at least that's what we call it down here in Texas). It really wasn't that bad - Stuart went to Blockbuster around 10 am. Here's a few pictures from outside the house.

It was so nice to be able to stay home with Ainsley all day. We are usually busy on the weekends, but today we stayed home warm in our pj's all day!

Officer Ainsley

Ainsley came home from Allyson's today with a badge! Apparently a police officer was driving around and saw all of the kids playing outside (Ainsley was sitting in Allyson's lap watching the boys play) and he stopped and gave them all a sticker. Isn't she cute?

6 Months!

Ainsley Grace is 6 months old today! We had pictures taken this morning and she was wonderful (as usual). Here are a few of my favorites:
There are some more pictures on this album . . .

Dress Shopping

Ainsley and I went wedding dress shopping with Kandis last Saturday. We were there for 2 1/2 hours and she was good the whole time!

Here are a few of the dresses Kandis tried on. . .

She looked like a Barbie doll in this one with her tiny waist!

I liked these two.
And the winner is . . . . .

JUST KIDDING!
This was my least favorite dress of the day. I don't want to post which one she chose (although I'm pretty sure Eric doesn't read my blog). Thanks Kandis for letting us come shopping with you:)

Spelling Bee

Ty qualified for the spelling bee at his school. Stuart went to go watch him and thought he was more nervous than Ty! In round one Ty spelled 'reckless' correctly. In the second round he had the word 'candidate' and almost got it right. He earned a ribbon for qualifying and participating, and we are SO proud of him!

Duck Pond

It was so nice outside yesterday we decided to take Ainsley to feed some ducks. We brought bread for them but they didn't eat any of it. I guess we weren't the only ones who decided to take advantage of the warm weather, and the ducks weren't hungry by the time we got there. Ainsley really liked looking at them though, and we still had a good time.

Lego Land - Nicholson Style

On New Year's Day we had a competition to see who could built the best "thing" out of Ty's new Legos.

Ty made an airplane, complete with a pilot standing on top.

Stuart made a pirate ship.

I made a Christmas weenie dog.

Then Stuart made another dog so my dog could have a friend.

After much deliberation (and a recount demanded by Stuart), Ty was declared the winner and received the much coveted golden brick lego. Way to go, Ty!

Happy New Year!

We had a great New Year's Eve celebration (at 7:00) with pizza, a cake, hats, and leftover Christmas crackers.
Stuart stayed up until midnight, but I am so lame I went to bed around 10. I was already tired and I knew Ainsley would be up at 6:00 am regardless of whether I got 5 hours or 8 hours of sleep. I didn't stay up last year either because I was tired and pregnant. Maybe next year I'll be able to stay awake and see the ball drop. We hope everyone has a wonderful 2009!
