9 Months Old!

Ainsley was 9 months old on Friday. We had pictures taken this weekend and she smiled the whole time. She is wiggling all over the place and can almost crawl on her hands and knees. She just figured out how to get back into a sitting position from being on her tummy. She's a good healthy eater, and still a great sleeper. She likes to be outside, play with her toys and dogs, and loves her big brother. (And Daddy and Mommy, too!)

First Pedicure

Not really. This is actually an attempt to entertain my pitiful, sick, cranky baby. You can see that she was a little apprehensive at first.
But then she gave in and ended up playing for a long time (and drenching both of us and the kitchen.)

Easter Morning

I'm a little (a lot) behind with my blog, as usual, so here are some pictures from Easter. Two weeks after Easter. We go to church on Saturday night mostly due to my concern about leaving Ainsley in the nursery with a ton of other babies. It's a much smaller crowd on Saturday, and I like that. I think from now on we will go to the Sunday service for Easter, though. It just didn't feel the same to be celebrating Easter Sunday on Saturday. It ended up being cold and rainy on Sunday, so Ainsley hunted for Easter eggs inside in her pajamas. Happy (late) Easter!!

When Boys Babysit, Part 2

Ainsley had a fever last night so I (Stuart) stayed home with her today (as Courtney doesn't have anymore sick days). Now that the no TV rule got broken today, I plan on introducing her to chocolate tomorrow. Don't tell Courtney!!!

On the Move

Ainsley started crawling (I use that term very loosely) last week! I have thought for a while that she was surely strong enough to crawl if she wanted to but the motivation just wasn't there. So on Thursday we tried "encouraging" her with a veggie-rice puff and there she went! Allyson said that she crawled all over today at her house but when we got home this was all I could get out of her . . .

She mostly just fussed for me to come hold her when I put her on her tummy. After being away from her all day I can't stand to let her cry for no good reason. I guess she'll get her practice in during the daytime when Mommy's not around to carry her everywhere!

Toga Party, Anyone?

It shouldn't come as a surprise to hear that Stuart came up with this little "outfit". . .

Pictures I Finally Have Time to Post Because We Have a Three Day Weekend

These are from the Botanic Gardens (which we went to weeks ago). I don't even have anything to write about it because I can't remember any of the details. Sorry!!

What The Heck?

I don't know how Ainsley ended up like this. She decided that tummy-sleeping just isn't for her and she sleeps on her side quite a bit now, but this???

I Didn't Teach Her That!

I don't have any pictures to document what happened this morning, but (after comforting and encouragement from Anjolee) I will share the story of Ainsley's first temper tantrum . . .

That obviously had nothing to do with her first temper tantrum. I just posted it to remind everyone of how cute/sweet she normally is.

This morning Ainsley held a mouthful of scrambled egg in her mouth for 15 minutes. She wouldn't finish her breakfast. She wouldn't let me brush her 4 teeth. She just sat with her mouth clamped shut. When it was time to leave and I put her in her carseat I knew I had to get it out (so she didn't choke while we were driving) so I used my finger to sweep the egg out. That REALLY ticked her off and she started screaming and flailing at me, so I gave her the pacifier hoping she would calm herself down. Not hardly. She threw it at me, so after I got in the front seat I reached back there and put it in her lap and the second time she threw it all the way across the backseat. It actually hit the opposite door and bounced back to the middle of the backseat! She has quite an arm. (Which is not surprising for a 20 pound 30 inch 8 month old.) Maybe when she's older she can play softball:)

En Route

We went to the Botanic Gardens two weeks ago and I haven't managed to put the pictures up yet. I took these on the way to the Botanic Gardens, and I couldn't choose just one, so here are all of them in their own post. Maybe I will get the pictures of us at the Botanic Gardens up later!
